The Division of Historical Resources’ Small Matching Grant Program applications shall be submitted via a new DOS Grants online system, which is scheduled to launch April 1, 2017. The Small Matching Application Submission Period is scheduled to begin April 1 and end May 1, 2017.
Although the new online system is not yet live, prospective Small Matching applicants are highly encouraged to access the sample application template provided at dos.myflorida.com/historical/grants/ as a guide to the required information and documents that will need to be submitted through the online system during the Application Submission Period. Please be aware that each Applicant Organization will need to complete the application and upload all required application attachments via the new online system. No applications or attachments may be submitted outside the new DOS Grants online system.
When accessing the new online system, applicants will need to prepare a profile and associate themselves to an organization; applicants will not be able to use previous log in credentials.

•Acquisition of historical resources such as archaeological sites or historic buildings or structures;
•Development such as excavation of archaeological sites, building restoration and rehabilitation, stabilization of historic or archaeological properties, historic structure assessments, feasibility studies, and emergency repairs on building or structures, among others;
•Community Education projects aimed at increasing public understanding and awareness such as walking tour brochures, educational programs for school children, videos illustrating historic preservation principles, and educational apps related to history or historical structures or sites, among others;
•Survey and Planning includes surveying for historic and archaeological sites, preparing ordinances, and creating preservation plans, among others;
•Main Street Start-up projects are a one-time start-up grant to newly designated Florida Main Street communities pursuant to Chapter 1A-36, F.A.C.;
•Historical Marker projects entail the acquisition of state Historical Markers for which texts have been approved by the State Historical Marker Council prior to application submission and provided the marker has not yet been purchased; and
•Nominations to the National Register of Historic Places.
