The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is committed to supporting museum activity that reflects exceptional aesthetic investigation and meaningful community engagement. Specifically, the Arts Endowment assists museums through the support of exhibitions, care of collections, conservation, commissions, public art works, community engagement, education activities, and other museum work.
ART WORKS Grants
Engagement Category – Deadline July 23, 2015
Grant amount: $10,000 to $100,000
Through the Engagement outcome, support is available for projects that provide public engagement with artistic excellence across a diverse spectrum of artistic disciplines and geographic locations. These projects should engage the public directly with the arts, providing Americans with new opportunities to have profound and meaningful arts experiences.
Eligible activities include:
Conservation treatment, documentation, collections management, and exhibition of art work, as well as technology projects, including digitization.
Eligible organizations include:
Nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3), U.S. organizations; units of state or local government; or federally recognized tribal communities or tribes may apply.
Applicants may be arts organizations, local arts agencies, arts service organizations, local education agencies (school districts), and other organizations that can help advance the goals of the Arts Endowment.
